Who You Used To Be

The first blog post seems fitting to be about who you may have been before. I’ll be so honest, when I was in middle school and high school I was nice but I know I came off with a hint of mean girl energy. Gross, I know. I’m not proud of it now but I was then. As far as theology goes I was well versed and could recite a lot of the Bible, but was I living as I should? NOPE. I was judgmental, gossiped, was prideful, and so many other things.

I’ll never tell you that you can’t change your heart, but I will tell you that you can’t do it on your own. Reading the Bible is fine and dandy but if you’re not living according to it then you’re wasting your time. We all know someone quick to tell others what they’re doing wrong but they’re not living according the word themselves.

Once you start taking The Bible to heart and living according to it and not according to what you want it to say life changes. Christians often forget they’re supposed to feel convicted.

Conviction is something, I think, gets forgotten sometimes by christians. They seem to be so focused on God’s love, forgiveness, etc that they forget the goal is to live according to His word. I will write more on this, but I think it’s imperative to live ACCORDING to the Bible and not change your interpretation of the Bible to fit your own beliefs. We see this so much today in politics, because calls us to love and that’s what so many lead with. YES He did call us to love but He doesn’t call us to condone every behavior. You can love someone without applauding their sin. I know I don’t want to surround myself with people who encourage my sin. You should want to better yourself always.

Let the Bible hurt your feelings today, it’s not meant to be just a feel good book.

I LOVE YOU!
